Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR)  is a youth-centered approach involving young people researching and addressing prominent social issues within their communities. 

Kid City’s YPAR Program positions high school students as co-researchers fostering community-centered values and civic engagement. 

Since 2019, high school students have deliberately identified other forms of inequity (i.e. incoming inequity,  housing scarcity, mental health) as key student issues.
