Workforce Success

Our commitment is to equip local youth and young adults with the best employment and networking opportunities, providing them with comprehensive support at every stage of their professional growth.

  • Kid City provides eight hours of free digital literacy training and a certificate of completion, through a series of online classes.

    Our curriculum includes content in media literacy, online safety, online productivity, AI ethical use and recognition, and other topics.

  • Participants get access to workforce training opportunities through our team members and volunteers who are professionals in a wide fields of careers such as healthcare, marketing, nonprofit management, music & entertainment industry, government and more.

    They are well versed in how to guide our participants through the different types of trainings, credentials and soft skills that individuals need to foster as they begin join the workforce.

  • Although Kid City's college access program is highly regarded, our team acknowledges and fully supports our young participants who choose to enter the workforce in a non-traditional academic route.

    Therefore, our team offers 1:1 support during their decision-making process, and connects them with local vocational training programs that provide hands-on, practical skills for a specific career or trade, leading to a faster entry into the workforce.

    From time to time, Kid City also offers vocational skills workshops in our facility, in collaboration with other partners.

  • Kid City hosts an annual Career Day event to open the conversation between our youth and those who are currently in the workforce.

    In addition, our engaged network of partners, volunteer mentors and experienced professionals from all types of industries (education, business, healthcare, etc.) and sectors (public, private and government), are eager to mentor and connect our participants not only with potential employment opportunities, but also with networking opportunities, introductions and informational interviews.

Splash of LA

Splash Training Program

Splash of LA, our annual community arts festival, is not only a chance to give back to our community, but also an opportunity to teach high school students fundamental skills for their professional careers. Participants in the program gain hands-on experience assisting in event production, obtaining entry-level professional experience that prepares them for their future.
