Our Impact

Why We Do This

Kid City has been a safe haven for many generations of Los Angeles youth. We provide a welcoming and inclusive “third space” outside of home and school, with wraparound programs and services that prevent and discourage young people from engaging in risky behaviors. We help them learn to plan for their futures and practice responsible decision-making. When students and their loved ones face extenuating circumstances, Kid City listens and responds.

Alone we can do so little; together, we can do so much.” - Helen Keller

Our Stories

I learned that people are deserving of support, no matter what. In other college access programs you have to have a certain gpa, letter of recommendation, and i really appreciated Kid City’s open door policy. I could bring my friends, students can rely on support, no matter where they are at.

At Kid City, there is mutual consent and group decision making. Things are not decided for us. We are consulted. New ideas are discussed with everyone, mutual creation. Kid City is more of a network, and less top down. People help each other. It is collaborative.
