Daisy Carbajal, M.Ed.

(she/her), College Access Specialist

I am a recent graduate with an M.Ed. in Educational Counseling from the University of Southern California, where I developed the skills and knowledge to support diverse student populations through a social justice and equity lens. With a background in Psychology (B.A., Cal State LA) and Liberal Arts (A.A., LATTC), I bring a deep commitment to educational equity, student empowerment, and culturally responsive support services.

My professional journey spans college access, academic advising, student programming, and basic needs advocacy. I’ve advised and supported over 1,000 students—many first-generation, Black, and Latinx—through one-on-one counseling, academic planning, financial aid, and transfer guidance. At organizations such as Southern California College Access Network, Long Beach City College, Cypress College, East Los Angeles College, and Kid City Hope Place, I’ve led workshops, coordinated events, developed student-focused programs, and collaborated with cross-campus teams to promote retention, persistence, and a college-going culture.

My experience also includes supervising staff, managing orientation programs, facilitating career development workshops, and leveraging tools like Starfish and ConexEd to provide proactive, personalized support. I have led grant-writing initiatives, co-developed strategic plans to improve emergency housing and food programs, and created targeted programming to support students’ academic and personal growth.
