Sal is the current Program Director for Kid City Hope Place and brings to the job a variety of experiences and education. He is a former firefighter and EMT! This experience encouraged him to think critically about his environment, which pushed him to transfer from ELAC to UC Berkeley, where he completed a BA in Social Welfare. Afterwards, Sal worked as a mental health counselor. He then continued his education at Harvard University Graduate School of Education so that he could better understand educational services & best practices to support students and families. He received a Master’s of Education in School Counseling/Social Work in 2017 and a Certificate of Advanced Study in School Counseling in 2018. Sal has delivered two babies!
